Signaling Pathway Analysis for Proteomics Gene Expression Data

Introduction:

Technological advances in biological experimentation are now enabling researchers to investigate living systems on an unprecedented scale by studying genomes, proteomes, or molecular networks in their entirety. Genomics technologies have led to a paradigm shift in biological experimentation because they measure (profile) most or even all components of one class (e.g. transcripts, proteins, etc.) in a highly parallel way. Whether gene expression analysis using microarrays, proteome and metabolome analysis using mass spectrometry, or large-scale screens for genetic interactions, high-throughput profiling technologies provide a rich source of quantitative biological information that allows researchers to move beyond a reductionist approach by both integrating and understanding interactions between multiple components in cells and organisms.

Until recently, understanding the regulatory behavior of cells has been pursued through independent analysis of the transcriptome or the proteome. Based on the central dogma, it was generally assumed that there exist a direct correspondence between mRNA transcripts and generated protein expressions. However, recent studies have shown that the correlation between mRNA and Protein expressions can be low due to various factors such as different half lives and post transcription machinery. Thus, a joint analysis of the transcriptomic and proteomic data can provide useful insights that may not be deciphered from individual analysis of mRNA or protein expressions.

Omics Technologies, as a pioneer in omics research fields, has brought the unbeatable power of IPA analysis to the next level. In addition to using the microarray or RNA seq data, we will also perform IPA analysis using your proteomics data and will provide you the most comprehensive signaling pathway analysis ever.

Before conducting this service, we will first discuss with you about the nature of your data and the goal of your analysis. After we have reached a written agreement of the project goal, your data will be processed by our Bioinformatics and Biostatistics scientists. A final report addressing your specific questions and containing universal informations about pathway changes in your data will be provided to you as the final product of this service. Free follow-up services will be available 24/7 for you to discuss with our scientists about the interpretation of the data.

There are typically 4 steps in a Molecular Biology Signaling Pathway Analysis project:

1) Aims – A discussion will be held with you to talk about the nature of your data and the specific questions you want to find an answer to from the analysis.

2) Data Transfer – Raw data is transfered to Omics Technologies if it is not created by Omics Technologies. If the data are generated by Omics Technologies, it will be kept forever, and we just need to know your project ID to pull it out.

3) Data Analysis – Omics Technologies scientists will perform data analysis using different sets of commercial softwares or home made softwares, scripts, pipelines, etc. to generate the analytical results.

4) Report generation – Signaling pathway analysis report will be sent to you in Excel format as well as a summary in PDF format. We will also provide you any details you need for your papers' MATERIALS AND METHODS section. We will make sure you understand your result and help you with your paper writing with free follow-up services.
